Ancestor trees are used to display the specified number of generations of saved ancestors for the primary person that fulfill the specified output criteria (see Treeview Options, Graphic Content tab, Tree Structure, Orientation and relatives).

The following description is valid for the orientation of the tree structure Oldest generation at the top.

The primary person is at the bottom of the graphic. Parents are arranged above their children with fathers on the left and mothers on the right. Next to the primary person, the fathers and the mothers, you can choose to display his or her siblings in their chronological order of birth (see Treeview Options, Graphic Content tab, Tree Structure, Orientation and relatives).

If multiple relationship statuses are present for a person (due to partnerships between relatives or repeated partnerships between the same partners), the person may be shown more than once within an ancestor tree (duplicates). In these cases, you can choose to output cross-references to other duplicates in these person boxes (see Treeview Options, Box Content tab, Output Personal Data). Ancestors of these persons are usually only displayed at the duplicate appearing first in the structure. However, you can specify that these ancestors be output at each duplicate, resulting in multiple listings for these persons as well (Treeview Options, Graphic Content tab, Tree Structure, Orientation and relatives).
