These special descendant trees are used to display the specified number of generations of saved descendants of the grandparents of the primary person. Only the persons that fulfill the specified output criteria are displayed (see Treeview Options, Graphic Content tab, Tree structure, Orientation and relatives).
To create this structure, both parents and the four grandparents of the primary person must be available with a record. If necessary, placeholder records are created to this after confirmation request. Excluded parents or grandparents are removed from the list of the excluded persons in the Treeview Options, Graphic Content tab, without confirmation request so that they are available again.
The structure of this graphic is based on two descendant trees of the two pairs of grandparents that are placed next to each other and that are not connected with lines. The parents of the primary person are present in both partial trees, making them duplicates. No changes are made to the chronological order of partnerships or births. For this reason, these trees are called "parents 2x chronological".
In the left partial tree, the top row will show the paternal grandparents. Under this, the father of the primary person will always be shown on the left and the mother on the right.
In the right partial tree, the top row will show the maternal grandparents. Under this, the mother of the primary person will always be shown on the left and the father on the right.
In certain situations, you will need to configure certain settings for the tree structure.
| • | If both partners of a grandparents pair have had several partnerships, it is not possible to display all of these partnerships and any resulting descendants. In these cases, a dialog will appear and ask which of the partners should have multiple partnerships displayed. This selected partner will be positioned on the left and his/her partners will be displayed to the right. This may result in the female partner being positioned to the left. |
| • | If just one partner in a grandparents pair has had multiple partnerships, he/she will automatically be positioned on the left with the multiple partners following to the right. This may also result in the female partner being positioned to the left. |
| • | If neither of the partners in a grandparents pair has had multiple partnerships, the husband (grandfather) will always be positioned on the left and the wife (grandmother) on the right. |
The vast array of combinations cannot all be shown here. Here are a few examples in which all grandparents have had multiple partnerships. You can create various treeviews by selecting which partner should have multiple partnerships displayed. The treeviews will only differ at the top row, which includes the grandparents. The two partial trees are not connected by lines and all chronological orders are maintained. The parents will, however, appear twice in the second row.
