Licensing

You can purchase a license for FamilyTreeFactory at the FamilyTreeFactory website or as a retail box version.

After purchasing a license, you will receive the licensing information for licensee and license number by email, or you will find printed licensing information for serial number and license number inside your retail box.

The licensing information must be entered in FamilyTreeFactory to prevent the word DEMO from being output: Help/Info menu, Enter Licensing Information...:

After a successful licensing of a license with a serial number it is offered to register immediately online. At the voluntary registration the name, the postal address and the email address are included in a database. The registration can be done under http://register.familytreefactory.com later, too. Registered customers of a license with serial number are preferred at the processing of e-mail support queries.

After entering the correct license information, the purchased license will be displayed and this option will no longer be displayed in the Help/Info menu. Otherwise, the words Demo Version will be output.

Note 1: Save the licensing information in a save place, as you may need this again for re-installing the software. Based on the license agreement, you are required to keep the licensing information confidential. If you provide your licensing information to unauthorized parties, your right to use the software will be revoked without refunding the licensing fee.

Note 2: Only if the program is installed on drive C: : The licensing status is saved in the application data directory of the user, who is logged in currently (see the Appendix the section Program Directories). So each user logged in under Windows will need to enter the licensing information.
