Box frame images must be bitmap files (*.bmp) and be at least 90 x 90 pixels in size. They contain 8 image segments that make up the box frame:

The following table describes the functions of the individual image segments (the rectangle in the center is not used):
Segment |
Part of image |
A |
30 x 30 pixels, top left corner |
B |
30 pixels high, top of side |
C |
30 x 30 pixels, top right corner |
D |
30 pixels wide, right side |
E |
30 x 30 pixels, bottom right corner |
F |
30 pixels high, bottom of side |
G |
30 x 30 pixels, bottom left corner |
H |
30 pixels wide, left side |
The corner segments A, C, E and G are resized to the correct pixel size to fit the target areas at the corners of the box frame.
The side segments B, D, F and H are resized to the correct pixel size to fit the target areas along the sides of the box frame. The side segments are usually stretched significantly in the longitudinal direction to fill the space between the corners. The width/height ratio of the segments is usually distorted. For this reason, you should only use images whose content is uniform in the longitudinal direction.
