The zoom overview shows a simplified miniature of the current treeview in which a yellow rectangle shows the section that is visible in the main window:

The zoom overview can be turned on and off in various ways:

 

Dragging the yellow rectangle with the left mouse button moves the visible section of the treeview. Double-clicking on the zoom overview moves the yellow rectangle and the visible section of the treeview to the click position.

The zoom overview can be placed anywhere within the FamilyTreeFactory main window with the mouse. For this, click and drag the zoom overview with the left mouse button (but not on the yellow rectangle).

Right-click on the zoom overview to open a menu for specifying the size and contents of the zoom overview:

Sub-menu size

The size is given as a percentage of the main window. Depending on the width/height ratio of the main window and the treeview, the larger relative measurement of the zoom overview is set to this percentage.

Sub-menu contents

The contents of the zoom overview can be reduced in this sub-menu to allow for quicker image rendering. Deactivated person photos are not entirely left out. Instead, they are replaced by a gray rectangle. For very small person box sizes, the texts are not output and the person photos are not output, regardless of the settings.
