The sub-tab Attributes and Events is used for entering attributes and events for a person.

All entry fields for places contain a dropdown list with all place names that have already been saved in the family file; this list can be edited with the function Edit Surname, Place and Religion Lists....

The data field Religion contains a dropdown list with all religions that have already been saved in the family file; this list can be edited with the function Edit Surname, Place and Religion Lists....

Baptism data includes a data field for Godparents. Up to nine godparents can be documented using two different methods: either by entering the record numbers of the godparents or by entering names. A comma or semicolon must be placed between the godparents, depending on the settings under Program Options, Miscellaneous tab. Record numbers must be entered as a number with no spaces. Entries that are not entirely composed of numbers will be treated as names. The navigation button with an arrow to the right opens a context menu to navigate directly to one of the listed record numbers.

It is recommended that you create data records for all godparents and simply enter their record numbers. This will allow you to use both methods if you want to export a Gedcom file to import into another program. A name can be found in a record, but a record number cannot be determined from a name. Select the option for Gedcom export in the Gedcom Options, Godparent Coding tab.

Note 1: On file cards of godparents the output 'Godparent of [Godchild]' will only appear, if the godparent is saved in the personal data of the godchild with his or her record number and not with his or her name. This applies to witnesses analogous.

For death data, the checkbox Killed in action can be marked, which causes a special symbol to be drawn in the person box on output. In these cases, you can select from the dropdown list preposition words for the place of death (e.g. 'killed in action in Berlin' or 'killed in action near Berlin'). These preposition words are not supported in Gedcom and are not exported. Vice versa the preposition words can easily be specified for data from Gedcom imports by using the function Search for Records Marked 'Killed in action' from the Personal Data menu. This will create a list of all persons marked as 'Killed in action'.

The data field occupation can be used for multiple lines of text with line breaks. You can specify whether the line breaks entered here should be observed in the output to person boxes (in addition to any line breaks necessary due to box width). This is set under Treeview Options, Box Content tab, Output personal data, Special format options, Attribute texts. The Line break checkbox only affects the display in the Occupation data field and does not affect the data itself. Select this checkbox to display long lines of text with line breaks so that you can see the entire text without using the horizontal scroll bar.

Note 2: In the data field Occupation output language tags can be used. Details can be found in the section Usage of Output Language Tags.

The ID code can be used as you choose. It is not subject to an integrity check.

The data field Swiss civil rights municipality is only relevant for Swiss citizens, who have special rights in their civil rights municipalities (also called home municipalities). Swiss family registers are also kept at these places.

The data fields Godparent of record and Witness of record are for information purposes only. They display the record numbers at which the person is saved as a godparent or as a witness. Only entries of godparents and witnesses using record numbers are included, but not entries using names. The navigation buttons with an arrow to the right open context menus to navigate directly to one of the listed record numbers.

If you mark the checkbox Search for identical persons after clicking 'Save Record', the system will search the entire database for records that are likely the same person. For large families with partnerships among relatives, you may accidentally create multiple records for the same person. Date values are used to compare records; however, you can specify that names be included in the comparison in the Program Options, Miscellaneous tab. Unless at least one date is identical (date of birth, date of baptism, date of death, date of burial), records will not be considered identical even if they contain the same name.

Note 3: If the output of button hints has been activated in the Program Options, Toolbar tab, also in this dialog hints will be shown for the navigation buttons.
