In this dialog, the partners and children of a selected person can be shown in a table with 25 columns for partnerships/partners as well as 1 row for the partners and 25 rows for the children. The partners and children are arranged in the cells of the table in accordance with the values of the partner numbers and child numbers that were entered in the dialog Edit Personal Data. These entries may need to be changed, such as if new information is found that reveals additional children that died at an early age. You can correct the order of children in this dialog. For this, drag existing persons to new positions with the left mouse button. You can make space for an additional child by moving the existing children born after the additional child down a row. After accepting the new order, the dialog will be closed and the tree structure will be redrawn. You can now enter the additional child in the personal data of a parent under the now-empty child number. You may also need to change the birth order for children if a mistake is made. Simply drag the children to the correct order with your mouse. You can use any cell in the table or the special ordering area to the right of the column for partnership no. 25. Changes to the order of partners are done in the same way.

Excluded persons (Treeview Options, Graphic Content tab) are emphasized with a red background color.

Children cannot be dragged into a column of a partnership of the same gender. Such columns are emphasized with a red background color.

You can move children into columns that do not have a partner. FamilyTreeFactory can also process children that only have one parent saved.

Point the mouse at an occupied cell in the table and an information window with personal data will appear.

You can only move persons to empty cells in the table. Over occupied cells, the cursor will appear as a circle with a diagonal line. Persons cannot be dropped into these cells. In addition, the program insures that partners are only moved within the partner row and that children are only moved within the 25 child rows.

If you have made a mistake while rearranging, you can click Restore to return to the original table layout. You can also close the dialog without saving changes by clicking Cancel. Click the button Apply Order to save the changed order. This is only possible if a plausibility check of the relevant date entries for all affected persons does not find any contradictions. You will be notified if any contradictions are found. If a date is incorrect, exit the dialog with the Cancel button and open the dialog Edit Personal Data. There, you can delete the date or place it in parentheses (date text phrase). Open the Change Order of Partners/Children function again and change the order. You can then enter the correct date in the Edit Personal Data dialog.
