Duplicate connection lines are Free Geo Objects that connect duplicates in the background with a Bézier curve. For better clarity, a wide line width and a color can be used. In addition to the cross-references in the person boxes, these connection lines show the existence and position of duplicates in a visual form. For connected partial trees, no connection lines are created that span multiple pages.
You can set the color and line width in this dialog. In addition, you can specify a minimum distance between duplicates for a connection line to be drawn. No connection line is drawn for duplicates that are closer than this distance because the duplication can be clearly seen.
You can preview the impact of various colors and line widths by leaving the dialog open and accepting the changed settings with the Apply button.
If two partners located directly next to each other (in adjacent columns) both have duplicates that are also located directly next to each other, only one duplicate connection line will be drawn. Its endpoints are between the person boxes of the partners.
Duplicate connection lines are Free Geo Objects with the object type "curve" and can be edited easily. The curvature can be adjusted by dragging the control points in the curve with your mouse. This can help to make the line as clear as possible while avoiding overlaps with the treeview. The color can also be changed later in the dialog Edit Free Geo Objects.
Note 1: Duplicate connection lines can be used also in relatives trees to emphasize the cross-references there graphically. |
Note 2: The recently used settings for duplicate connection lines are saved in the currently opened family file and used as pre-settings for new duplicate connection lines. When resetting the Treeview Options to the factory default settings, also the pre-settings for duplicate connection lines are reset to the factory default settings. |
