On this tab profiles with certain Treeview Options can be saved and loaded. A profile saves all options selected on the other tabs, except the list Excluded Persons on the Graphic Content tab and the lists of constant assignment of an Ancillary Color Scheme to certain record numbers on the Box Colors tab. Arbitrary many profiles can be saved under names of their own and loaded again later. Profiles saved by the user can also be renamed and deleted.
If you have found Treeview Options, which fit your requirements, save these settings here as a profile under a name of its own: In the area Save Current Options, mark the radio button as a new profile under this name:, enter a name for the profile and click the button Save Profile. Later, you can simply load this profile again: Select the profile in the list Available Profiles and click the button Load Profile, or double-click the profile in the list.
While loading a profile, it is checked whether the list Excluded Persons on the Graphic Content tab or the lists of constant assignment of an Ancillary Color Scheme to certain record numbers on the Box Colors tab contain persons. If any, you are asked in a message whether the contents of the lists should be deleted.
If a loaded profile changes the options of the tree structure, the ancestor or descendant numbers, the offset of row numbers or the Automatic Width/Height function, just like manual changes, once per session a message will appear reminding you to create the tree newly afterwards. If several of the mentioned options has been changed, several messages will appear. Because these messages will only be output once per session, you may be uncertain at repeated loading of different profiles whether the tree has to be created newly or not; to be on the safe side, then you should create the tree newly.
If a loaded profile has not been saved based on the current treeview, you should always create the tree newly. Otherwise it is improbable that the box measurements match the current box contents.
With the buttons Export Profile... and Import Profile... you can save profiles outside the program in arbitrary directories and under arbitrary file names *.tvo as Treeview options files and load again later. This possibility can be used for example to exchange profiles with other users. Importing a profile does not change the Treeview Options adjusted currently; if you want to adjust an imported profile at once, too, you must click on the button Load Profile in addition after the import.
Tip: You can also drag one or several Treeview options files *.tvo from the Windows Explorer with the mouse into the list of available profiles. These Treeview options files are then saved as profiles and added to the list. |
The profile [ Factory Default Settings ] is firmly predefined by the program. This profile can be neither renamed nor deleted. It serves only the restoration of the factory default settings. If you load this profile and click on the button OK or Apply, also the default settings for new Free Text, Image and Geo Objects, for new column/row numbers, for new person indexes and for new duplicate connection lines will be reset to the factory default settings.
The profile [ Default Settings for New Treeviews ] at first corresponds to the factory default settings. This profile can be neither renamed nor deleted. You can save settings in this profile which fit your personal ideas and which should be used as default settings for new treeviews in the future: In the area Save Current Options, mark the radio button as default settings for new treeviews and click the button Save Profile.
If you want to reset the default settings for new treeviews to the factory default settings, first load the profile [ Factory Default Settings ] and second save the current settings to the profile [ Default Settings for New Treeviews ].
Note 1: The functions Save Profile, Rename Profile, Delete Profile, Export Profile und Import Profile are immediately executed and can't be undone with the button Cancel. The function Load Profile only causes the display of the settings of the profile on the other tabs; whether these settings get effective depends on the usage of the buttons Cancel, OK or Apply. |
Note 2: Independent from the usage of a profile, the recently used Treeview Options are saved in the currently opened family file and will be loaded again at the next opening of the family file. If an user wants always to work with the same Treeview Options, the usage of profiles is not required. |
