You can set automatic titles output preferences here. The automatically-created titles can consist of a main title and a subtitle as well as a coat of arms image. The main title includes the given names (or only the preferred given name) and surname and/or maiden name of the primary person (depending on the settings in the tab Box Content). The subtitle can be any text, including the name of the family file and/or the current date. The font of the main title and subtitle can be selected separately. The line distance corresponds to the one which is set in the Box Format tab.
The coat of arms image can be a bitmap (*.bmp) or a JPEG file (*.jpg). Select a coat of arms by clicking the button Select Image File.... The file that contains the coat of arms must be located in the main directory for image files (see Program Options, Directories tab).
Hint 1: You can also drag an image file for the coat of arms from Windows Explorer with the mouse into the preview area. |
The titles are usually shown in the row of the youngest (or oldest) generation for ancestor trees and in the row of the oldest (or youngest) generation for descendant trees to the right of the box furthest to the right if there is sufficient space. First, the coat of arms is output. The remaining space can be used for text. If the text break is not appropriate, you can manually move the box furthest to the right to the left (see Functions in Treeviews) to gain more space for the title. The Justification allows you to determine how the text area is filled.
The preview function gives a sample view of the titles output. A preview can be performed for ancestors or descendants. The breaks shown in the preview do not represent the breaks in the treeview, as sample names and dimensions are used. To check the actual titles output, use the treeview, print preview or export preview.
Hint 2: If you are not satisfied with the automatically-created titles, we recommend that you use Free Text Objects and Free Image Objects. They can be created and positioned to your liking. The creation of a Free Text Object with a graphic title is very easy by drawing a rectangle on the desired area of the treeview with your left mouse button while holding the Ctrl key. Select the option Create Text Object 'Graphic Title'... from the menu that appears. The created Text Object includes text variables to output the main title mentioned above; changes and additions can be made in the dialog Edit Free Text Objects. |
