The functions described here are part of the adjustment of the background image at the Graphic Content tab.
If Symbol is selected and if the Number of images side by side is set to 1, the background image can be adjusted in a special manner. In this case one single image covers the whole background. Mark the checkbox Image adjustment and select Resizing or Cropping.
If you select Resizing the background image will be resized (absolute measurement and width/height ratio) so that the whole background will be covered by the whole content of the image. In the preview you see the brightened original background image and overlayed in a red rectangle the resized image with the width/height ratio according to the proportions of the actual treeview; if no treeview is present, the proportions of the setup paper format are used (Width/Height Ratio in the inside margins on the Printer Page tab). Here is an example with a family coat of arms:

If you select Cropping the background image will be cropped: The image maintains its width/height ratio and is enlarged or shrunk so that one dimension exactly fills the background. The excess image segments in the other dimension are cut off. In the preview you see the brightened original background image and overlayed in a red rectangle the cropped image with the width/height ratio according to the proportions of the actual treeview; if no treeview is present, the proportions of the setup paper format are used (Width/Height Ratio in the inside margins on the Printer Page tab). You can move the red rectangle over the original background image with the mouse to fix the part to be used. Some examples with different parts follow:
The upper part of the original background image is used:

The middle part of the original background image is used:

The lower part of the original background image is used:

Of course you cannot only adjust the upper, middle or lower part, like in the examples, but move the red rectangle with the mouse quasi stepless. Depending on the proportions of the graphic and the background image, you can move the red rectangle horizontally or vertically.
