Assignment of Replacement Color Schemes

Print this topic Previous pageOne level upNext page

You can start this dialog by right-clicking on a person box in treeviews and selecting the function Replace Color Scheme for.

This dialog will set the replacement color scheme that is to be assigned for a person or all persons in a branch, column or row. The starting point for these assignments is the person on which you right-clicked in the treeview.

Click on the button Color to select a different text color.

There are various options based on whether the checkboxes Frame Color/Image and Background Color/Image are marked. The selections are only displayed here and can be set under Treeview Options, Box Colors tab, Definition of the Main and Ancillary Color Schemes sub-tab. The buttons open a dialog to select the frame and background color or to select a box frame image or a background image. The functions correspond to those found in the dialog Definition of the Main and Ancillary Color Schemes.

Hint: If the checkboxes Frame Image and/or Background Image are marked, you can also drag an image file from Windows Explorer to the preview area with your mouse. For a box frame image, you will need to drag the image to the frame of the preview box. For a box background image, drag the image to the center of the preview box.

With the three checkboxes Replace text color, Replace frame and Replace background you can fix which of the three elements of the replacement color scheme shall actually be assigned. The color scheme assigned automatically remains valid for not assigned elements. By the partial assignment you can achieve interesting color combinations; you can for example adjust the color of the box background to light gray in every second row for the emphasis of the rows and simultaneously change the colors of the frames to the identification of branches which go over several generations.

The replacement color scheme is assigned to the record numbers of the specified persons. The manually-assigned replacement color scheme overwrites the automatically-assigned main and ancillary color schemes (for details, see the primary section Box Colors).

An assigned replacement color scheme can also be removed by selecting the function Restore color scheme for.

All replacement color schemes are removed when a new tree type is created or a new primary person is determined.

The preview of the replacement color scheme shows the person box you have clicked with the right mouse button. If you determine the replacement color scheme for several persons in a branch, in a column or in a row and if you do not replace all three elements, other color combinations can arise in other person boxes.

Note: Replacement color schemes are not treeview options because they do not serve the automatic graphic design. Therefore they are not removed with the function Set Treeview Options to Default in the Tools menu.
