In the Text Color area, the color of the text can be adjusted. The font used for text is selected at the tab Box Font.
In the Frame area, two options for frame output can be selected:
The box can be framed with a single color line. For this, mark the checkbox Color and select a color for every color scheme and every gender with the buttons M, F and U. The line width is adjusted on the tab Box Format.
You can also use bitmap (*.bmp) box frame images to create highly-complex design frames, some that give a 3-D appearance. Box frame images are subject to certain conventions regarding pixel dimensions and image contents, which are described in detail in the Appendix in the section Conventions for Box Frame Images. It is not necessary to be familiar with these conventions if you limit your selection to ready-made box frame images, or if you only change the color of the images in an image editing program. If you would like to make custom design frames, you will need to read the Appendix.
To use a box frame image, mark the checkbox Image and select a corresponding image file for each color scheme and each gender with the buttons M, F and U. The frame width is adjusted on the tab Box Format.
Hint 1: You can also drag image files from Windows Explorer with the mouse. For this, you will need to drag the mouse onto the frame of the preview box intended for the box frame image. |
If an image is used for the box background, you may not want to use any box frame. In this case, the checkboxes Color and Image for the box frame may not be marked. If this is not the case, one of the checkboxes must be marked.
In the Background area, two options for background output can be selected:
The box can be given a solid color background. For this, mark the checkbox Color and select a color for every color scheme and every gender with the buttons M, F and U.
You can also use a background image for the box. These can be bitmaps (*.bmp) or JPEG files (*.jpg). To use a box background image, mark the checkbox Image and select a corresponding image file for each color scheme and each gender with the buttons M, F and U.
Hint 2: You can also drag image files from Windows Explorer with the mouse. For this, you will need to drag the mouse onto the center of the preview box intended for the box background image. |
In addition, you can determine how the image adjustment to the box dimensions should be performed. This can either be done by Resizing or by Cropping. Resizing means that the complete contents of the image file are included in the output. The image height and width are separately enlarged or shrunk to fit the box dimensions. Cropping means that the image maintains its width/height dimensions and is enlarged or shrunk so that one dimension exactly fills the box. The excess image segments in the other dimension are cut off.
If the checkboxes Color and Image are not marked, the boxes will not have an own background. The graphic background that was selected in the tab Graphic Content will then be visible in the boxes.
You can create a varied graphic by using different box background images with revolving assignment of one of ten image files. For this, you will need to create 10 different image files that start with the same name and end with the numbers 0 - 9. The program will assign these 10 image files using a special method to the person boxes. These series of images can be defined for the main and ancillary color schemes and for each gender, giving you a maximum of 90 different images that can be scattered throughout the tree structure.
It is important that the images of each series have the same file name except for the last character, which must be a number from 0 - 9.
Note: If you do not want to use revolving assignment, the background image file names may not end in a number. |
Here are some examples for box design possibilities:

Warning: Using box frame images or box background images can strain Windows graphics resources. |
